MPS Power Sentries Boost D.C. Preparedness

On an ordinary day, protecting the citizens of a city like Washington D.C. is no small feat. The regular influx of elected officials, high-profile foreign dignitaries, tourists and activists means the Metropolitan Police Department must be prepared for any event. And when incidents break out on federal properties and spill into D.C. streets, they’re called upon to provide backup and assistance for federal law enforcement agencies as well.

Video surveillance from Mobile Pro Systems has been an effective tool for D.C. agencies in the past, and earlier this year they turned to MPS again to obtain a number of Power Sentry mounted camera systems to deploy around the city. These custom units along with Commander 3400 camera trailers help D.C. officers monitor developing situations and provide key documentation of how events transpired. Recorded video is often used to help identify culprits engaged in criminal activity and supply strong evidence required for prosecution.
