Mobile Surveillance Provides Hard Evidence to Fight Organized Retail Crime

Video surveillance is poised to have more impact than ever in the fight against organized retail crime. Over the past two years, nine states have enacted legislation aimed at curbing these criminal enterprises, and there’s a push at the federal level to do the same.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has made three recommendations to combat retail crime in 2024*:
- Coordinate resources among business and law enforcement
- Aggregate offenses to punish repeat offenders
- Prosecute aggressively to combat lawlessness
Surveillance trailers from Mobile Pro Systems support all three of these goals in important ways. Because our platforms can be fully integrated with existing networks and systems, information sharing among agencies is faster and easier. The mast system we’ve developed results in extreme stability for cameras up to 33 feet. This provides a high and wide view of parking lots and entrance points to follow shoplifters as they enter and exit buildings with stolen goods. Investigators can search recorded video and zoom in on people of interest to secure forensics quality evidence that will hold up in court.
Taking on organized retail crime is a huge challenge, but this is the right time to invest in a trailer-based or pole-mounted solution from Mobile Pro Systems. Our knowledgeable solutions consultants have experience working with both law enforcement and retail property owners: 952-324-5656.
