Mastering the Mast

MPS 2020 Product Redesign Series
Mastering the Mast

The mast is the centerpiece of camera trailer platforms and its strength and stability is essential for quality recording results. When a trailer is buffeting in wind, the camera images will not be clear and the system will consume more video storage data. Mobile Pro Systems’ proprietary stabilized electric mast system design uses rollers at the mast section tops to lock a fully extended mast together for solid camera stability. And unlike other products on the market, extending the masts on MPS camera trailers is easy. With the push of a button, you can extend the mast in about a minute.

As part of our 2020 product redesign initiative, we’ve added these enhancements to the Commander 3400 and Falcon 3100 mast systems:

Quieter, Faster Mast Motors

Our new 2020 configuration now has double gearing motors so the mast motors run smoother and quieter.

New Steel Top Mast Cable Retainers

To keep cabling at the top of the mast clean and secure, steel coil cable retainers are now supplied.

Larger Top Mast Enclosure

The new 2020 versions have a larger top mast enclosure that provides additional room for components that may be needed. At a minimum, there is more room to attach the cameras.

New Camera Mounting Options

There are several new camera mounting options, and as the camera industry advances, so do we with new mounting options. We are adding more mid-mast camera mounting options for ALPR (Automatic License Plate Readers) and the new 360° camera that works well at the mid-mast level.

Easier to Use Ethernet Connectors

One of the improvements to our systems over the last year has been the use of a one-quarter twist bayonet base weatherproof ethernet connectors. This makes it easier for users to attach and disconnect cameras and other ethernet equipment.

Additional Ethernets at Mid-Mast

In many cases, customers want to place additional devices at the mid-mast level such as ALPR cameras, IP based Radar motion detectors or IP based audio horns. There are now three available ethernets at the mid-mast location.

In 2020, we significantly redesigned the Commander 3400 and Falcon 3100 models to further advance hardware reliability and the user experience. This post is the first in a series introducing our new features. For more information, contact our sales office at 952-324-5656.
